Golfing Society
Golfing Society
The HAC Golfing Society is open to all members, both Regimental and Non-Regimental
and members of the Active Unit are especially welcome. The vast majority of the
current membership served in the Active Unit and are therefore staunch upholders
of the Regiment’s traditions and customs.
The Society has two Society meetings per year- in April at Worplesdon and in
June at The Berkshire with a member and guest meeting at the New Zealand in October.
There are 25 matches (all foursomes) against various societies and clubs played

It will be noted that the Society has the privilege of playing on some of the
finest courses in the South of England
History does not record the birth of the Society other than it started in 1923
with a match against Littlehampton Golf Club at the behest of the then Duke of
Norfolk who had been instrumental in enacting the Territorial Army Act of 1908.
Over the years members of the Society instigated matches against their clubs nearly
all of which survive today.
