Hockey Club
The Hockey Club celebrated its Centenary in 2004. The Tournament organised for
the busy week in June was the last time that the hockey pitch at Armoury House
was used intensively.
The Club boasts three sides. The 1st XI plays in the highly competitive Surrey Area Div 1 in the Surrey Hockey League,
while the 2nd XI (the ‘Sutlers’) and the Veterans play in the London Hockey League. All teams
enjoy a full fixtures list. The Club has now arranged to play all its ‘home’
matches on Astroturf at James Allen’s Girls’ School (‘JAGS’) in Dulwich.
The Club welcomes talented players, who do not need to be members of the HAC
but should expect to acquire an appreciation of the Company’s history and traditions.
The Sports Clubs assist with recruiting to the Active Unit whenever possible.
