HM The Queen opens the Prince Consort Rooms
The HAC unveils a brand new conference and events venue for the City
HM The Queen has officially opened the Prince Consort Rooms, the impressive new
conference and events facilities at the HAC, whilst attending a lunch for 450
guests held in her honour.
The HAC, with its magnificent six acre garden and historic Armoury House, has
long been one of the City’s secret gems. With the addition of the Prince Consort
Rooms, which seats up to 450 for a conference or dinner, the HAC is also now able
to offer one of the largest capacity venues in the City. Built in the shell of
the original Victorian drill hall, the Prince Consort Rooms are modern and contemporary
yet incorporate elements of the HAC’s fascinating history. This combination has
created an exceptionally sleek and stylish venue of great character which will
undoubtedly become one of the City’s most popular venues.
The Prince Consort Rooms are approached via an attractive courtyard which leads
off the HAC’s superb grounds opening up the possibility for outside drinks receptions.
Equally suited to both daytime conferences and evening events, the Prince Consort
Rooms feature an in-built atmospheric lighting scheme, audio-visual infrastructure
and secure,wireless broadband connection.
Diane Waldron, Head of Marketing and Events at the HAC, said, “the City is short
of flexible, large capacity venues that can accommodate 300 more guests and to
have such a venue in a fabulous setting such as the HAC is an additional bonus.
The demand has been shown by the number of corporate clients who confirmed events
in the Prince Consort Rooms from June onwards before having even a hard hat viewing.”
