The Wedding Ceremony

The HAC has four rooms which are licensed for civil marriage ceremonies. These
are the Prince Consort Rooms, Long Room, Queen’s Room and Ante Room.
Licensed capacities
The Prince Consort Rooms 400 guests
The Long Room 120 guests
The Queen’s Room 45 guests
The Ante Room 45 guests
The Prince Consort Rooms, Queen’s and Ante Rooms are located on the ground floor
and the Long Room above them on the first floor. Each of the rooms is wheelchair
accessible.
There is an additional charge of £500 + VAT to hold your ceremony in the Long
Room or Prince Consort Rooms if the rooms then need to be turned around for the
seated meal. There is no additional charge (other than the venue hire fee) if
you hold your ceremony in the Queen's or Ante Rooms.
You will need to contact the Superintendant Registrar for Islington Council as
soon as you have made a provisional booking at the HAC for your civil marriage
ceremony in order to check the availability of a Registrar. The Law required that
marriages take place between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The latest that Islington
Council will accept a wedding booking is 5pm. The Register Office accepts provisional
bookings up to one year in advance and you can give formal notice of your marriage
up to 12 months before your wedding day. A fee will be charged by Islington Council
for giving notice.
You can contact the Superintendant Registrar on 020 7527 6350/1
