- Our military role is relevant and used now on operations. It’s a tough and demanding
challenge requiring specialist skills and fitness.
- There are many other valuable jobs also available to men and women equally, such
as signallers, drivers, clerks, intelligence specialists, chefs, medics and vehicle
mechanics. Our soldiers attain skills and qualifications useful in everyday life
such as car & LGV driving, food hygiene, IT, first aid and car maintenance.
- Soldiering with the HAC is great fun and exciting with new challenges and experiences
not available in normal everyday life. It helps develop self confidence.
- There are many opportunities to serve on an overseas operational tour with members
of the HAC or with other regiments. This should be something you aspire to do
at some stage in your time at the HAC.
- Sporting and adventurous training opportunities available in the HAC are second
to none. Members of the regiment are also entitled to free membership of the Virgin
Active gym located in our grounds.
- Our soldiers come from a variety of backgrounds but have much in common in terms
of self motivation, intelligence and ambition. This delivers good teamwork and
long term friendships.
- All HAC soldiers are in one location with modern facilities but with a strong
sense of history as well.
- Our ceremonial role is important as it gives us visibility in the city outside
of the army and a sense of pride in service.
- The HAC’s income is solely generated for the charitable purpose of “setting out
of soldiers”. The company provides welfare services to its members - both active
and veteran.
