The HAC’s role is to conduct surveillance and target acquisition (STA) in hostile environments in support of the UK’s foreign, defence and security policy. STA patrols are trained to penetrate and survive behind enemy lines and in both urban and rural environments often operating for long periods of time on their own.
HAC patrol soldiers must be fit, self-motivated, intelligent and have the stamina to keep going until the mission is accomplished. HAC soldiers complete an arduous patrols course before becoming a Special Observer. Providing support to these patrols requires a multitude of other roles from signal specialists, transport, medical and administrative support. Have you got what it takes?
The HAC has a wealth of roles and opportunities available to its soldiers. Opportunities and experiences so diverse you can achieve whatever you set your mind to; whether military and sporting, physical and psychological, home or abroad. Commit to pushing yourself further and harder than before. With unmatched facilities and assets at its disposal the HAC is well placed to help you live the ethos “to train hard, fight hard, play hard”
Together as one, develop physical robustness, self-confidence, leadership and teamwork. The HAC will encourage you to do more, to be more and to develop lifelong skills and friendships along the way. The training is progressive and the need to ensure a high standard means the HAC is one of the units that continues to run its own Recruit training centre and specialist courses. The staff who assist and provide training at the HAC are drawn from some of the best units in the British Army. The HAC can take you on a journey from the ordinary to the extraordinary and let you discover your hidden potential. HAC personnel need to be physically fit and robust to withstand the rigours of military life whether at war or in peace.
HAC personnel need to be physically fit and robust to withstand the rigours of military life whether at war or in peace. The HAC recognises the need to balance these demands and so believes the hard work, time and effort you invest in the HAC should be well rewarded year round with excellent social functions, annual Balls, sports and an esprit de corps that is second to none. This is what ultimately allows its soldiers do more and be more.
If you're motivated, intelligent and prepared to commit to train hard, then come to our recruiting presentation evening held at the HAC on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 1830. If you require further information, please call 020 7448 0703 or email us.
